Learning materials design
“All the world is a laboratory to the inquiring mind” – Martin H. Fischer
The next logical step in the educational design process is the development or selection of learning materials that will help the learners acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes. Typically these include literature, case studies, assignments, videos, simulations, etcetera. In practice, this phase often coincides with the previous phase of instructional design, but can also be executed after the instructional design phase. It can also be executed on a more regular basis, as new (ideas about) materials become available, or to make sure the material stays up to date with external developments.
